Young artists are invited to come imagine new art concepts, explore various mediums, and to create original works of art! Each week will be creating a new and exciting art project to take home!

Looking for a creative way to bring people together or fun activity to do with a friend?
Just Be You Studio is your place for everything from birthday parties, team building events and featured seasonal classes.
Events can be booked at the Studio or on location.
Paint Party Classes are held monthly across the county and are open to the public to attend. Revenue generated from these classes help to support our Studio Kids Scholarship Fund.

Paint Party Events
• Require advanced registration with payment
• We have a gallery of paintings to choose from or we can create a unique painting for your event!
• Schedule your own private paint party event for at the Studio or on location. Contact me to check the calendar and book a date.
Registration Details

Cancellation of registration must be received 48 hours prior to the event to receive a class credit for a future event. Refunds will not be issued for registration fees.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to find your seating. Those that arrive more than 15 minutes after the event begins will be required to reschedule for future event.

Photos will be taken at the completion of each event/class. If you wish to not have your photo on our social media/marketing, please do not participate in the photo. The instructor will be glad to take a personal photo with your device is requested.

Studio Kids Classes are a six-week series held one night a week. Registration will not be received after the first class in the series. No refunds will be issued for partial attendance.
My Story?
It started with a book of maps, a can of pencils, stacks of scrap paper, and my grandma.
Growing up on a rural farm in Onsted, Michigan, the youngest of four children, our grandparents lived just down the road from our house. Having a teacher as a grandmother, I always had stacks of paper and pencils at her house and those cold winter snow days offered plenty of time indoors to create. She would set me down with a book of maps and challenge me to draw what I saw without looking at the paper.
Every summer, snow day, and school holiday, I spent hours at my grandparent’s house drawing, gardening, sewing, reading, and creating collages from her treasure box of scrap materials.
These warm memories of freedom to take risks, encouragement to explore fueled by imagination are what have motivated me to create Just Be You Studio. Art has always been a positive source of strength to be myself and a sense of acceptance.
Having now been a teacher myself for over 20 years, I have a desire to create an environment where people can imagine, explore, and create in a comfortable and encouraging environment. Where all feel accepted, supported, and valued. Please join me in this adventure as we continue this journey together.

ABOUT JULIA
Favorite Dickson Spot? Pumphrey & Beard
Favorite Artist? Gustave Courbet- Realism. Like me, Courbet was born into a rural setting and painted from what he observed. The Tennessee landscape is a constant source of inspiration.
The moment when you knew you were an artist? When I created my first stage design, I realized I loved using my analytical skills to design, artistic skills to apply color, and communication skills to connect the design with the audience.
Favorite thing about running your own art studio? I am able to provide Studio Kids Class scholarships and enable all children to experience the same freedom to take risks, and encouragement to explore fueled by imagination that I did as a child. Just Be You Studio is an environment where all students are welcome and encouraged to just be themselves.
Why you love teaching? I love the relationships that are built during the classes with all ages of students.
Most frustrating project you have worked on? Recently I was working on a Dutch Pour + Swipe project and it was a challenge to break free from my realism rules and enjoy the unknown of the technique. Once I was able to embrace the process, it was addictive!
Piece of work you are most proud of? The acrylic on canvas- Rose Gate Cottage is my favorite. My husband and I traveled to England for our 25th anniversary and we took the picture I painted while on our trip.

Ever wish you had more time or space for drawing, painting, or creating? Our classes are where you want to be to continue to grow your curiosity and skills. Taught by our featured Dickson artist and designer, bring your beverage, friends and join us for a night/day of creativity and fun!
Our classes are individualized with each student walking away with a completed, unique work of their own.
Events/Classes require registration at least 48 hours in advance to ensure materials are prepped for all participants. If you’d like to register closer to the class time, please email for confirmation prior to registering.
